2 year program; 3 units of credit per year
Students will learn dental examination, treatment, radiographic and laboratory procedures, patient scheduling, and record maintenance. Instruction is also provided in infection control and hazard management, chair-side assistance, emergency and preventative procedures, dental specialties and office administration. Students will become CPR certified and take the Missouri Basic Skills exam and may participate in a clinical internship. Upon completion of the program, and two years of full-time work experience students may take the National Board Exam to become a certified dental assistant.
